Larsen Marine's Service Department is committed to providing our customers with timely performance of the most comprehensive boat maintenance and repair services on Lake Michigan. For over 75 years, we have serviced both power and sailing yachts from our Waukegan Boat Yard. We service, haul, store, and commission hundreds of boats each year. Three Travelifts and a large crane offer quick service for hauling and launching boats up to 70 feet and 55 tons. Our 45 slip yacht basin offers convenient dockage enabling our technicians to efficiently service your boat. If you need repairs, upgrades, or custom installations, you can have confidence in our reputation for fair prices and quality service by factory trained personnel. MECHANICAL
Talk with Mark Kish, our Mechanical Supervisor, for repairs, installation and replacement of a wide variety of equipment, including engines, generators, air conditioning, heating, water systems, and much much more. Our technicians regularly attend manufacturer's service schools in order to be current on the latest technologies.
SODA BLASTING
This is an environmentally safe and 'hull safe' method used to quickly strip heavy, accumulated layers of bottom paint from your hull. Unlike sand, professional soda blasting won't harm your hull. After many years of bottom paint applications, you may need to remove all the old paint from your hull. Soda blasting is the efficient first step in bottom paint removal and recoating.
PAINTING AND BRIGHTWORK
Teak and other woods look so much better when they are maintained seasonally! Our team of technicians take great care in performing exterior and interior brightwork maintenance and refinishing with the most durable products in the industry. Our AWLGRIP custom paint shops annually perform hull and deck repainting for many boats. Again, no job is too big or too small. We will be happy to provide references to the many satisfied customers we have served over the years. Larsen Marine prides itself on using the best materials and application techniques.
FIBERGLASS REPAIR
We have been repairing and reconditioning fiberglass boats for over 40 years. Our fiberglass technicians have years of experience and formal training by our material suppliers. They have repaired everything from minor gel coat cracks and gouges to complete hull bottoms, and everything in between. Our heated facilities insure proper curing and durable, long lasting fiberglass finishes. Dull, oxidized finishes can often be brought back to 'like new' condition. SAILBOAT RIGGING
Talk with Rigging Manager Mike Shield about ALL your rigging needs! We are capable of everything from replacing your entire rig to cleaning or servicing winches, to installing roller furling systems for both headsails and mainsails - either 'In-Mast' or 'In-Boom'. We specialize in deck hardware additions or alterations and layout designs to help make sail handling easier. We can install new life-lines, replace running and standing rigging, and routinely provide rig tuning to insure the best possible performance and safety for your sailboat. Routine and periodic maintenance and inspections of your rig will insure your maximum enjoyment and help to avoid costly repairs. Need a new complete mast? We have installed many new rigs.
FIRE, COLLISION OR WATER DAMAGE RESTORATION
Larsen Marine has many years of experience working closely with owners, insurance adjusters and surveyors. We have established good working relationships with many of them and can help the boat owner through this unpleasant process.
