Gold V.I.P. Premium Maintenance Plan
Pre-Haul Inspection One of Larsen Marine’s boat specialists conducts an in-water, dockside performance inspection to assess the proper functioning of your boat’s systems. Maximum benefit comes from your participation, as the boat owner, in this on-board assessment. A comprehensive checklist provides a guide, supplemented by our specialists’ experience to gain insight into your boat’s operation and function. The completed checklist, service history, notes and observations are provided to the owner and a copy is kept in Larsen Marine’s boat records file.
For maximum benefit, boats should undergo this inspection prior to decommissioning activities. Estimates for repairs and enhancements not included in this service package will be submitted at the request of the boat owner.
Your “boat manager” is an advocate for your boating experience. Boat managers help identify your goals and usage, and coordinate the performance and function of your boat to satisfy you.
The checklist includes all tangible items and systems from light bulbs to navigation systems to engines to rigging to. . . . When a problem evolves, you sometimes don’t notice, or grow to live with it. Your boat manager can recognize issues that have gone unnoticed and will suggest cost effective solutions.

Cleaning
Exterior:
- Pressure Wash to Clean Bottom The first step is a high-pressure wash of below-waterline surfaces. Our standard storage agreement includes this service. Every boat stored at Larsen Marine, inside and outside, gets a high-pressure bottom wash.
- Hand Wash Exterior Surfaces including Hull, Topsides, Cockpit and Deck Using an environmentally friendly detergent, we scrub and rinse all exterior surfaces for a superior cleaning in preparation for polishing and conditioning. All boats are hand washed and dried.
- Buff and Wax Hullsides, Deck and Cabin Once inside our building, we buff all smooth surfaces with a compound using a power buffer as needed to clean, remove discoloration, revitalize appearance, and remove surface scratches and scuffs. We follow it with a coat of paste wax to protect, shine and seal the finish.
- Clean and Polish Exterior Chrome and Stainless We apply a chrome and stainless cleaner to remove tarnish, and then polish it off with a shine for appearance and protection. Includes winches, rails, stanchions, cleats, anchor, windlass, fender racks, all metal trim . . . excludes mast and rigging components.
- Misc. Cleaning We apply an effective cleaning solution to fenders, coated lifelines, and shore power cords—those often neglected/difficult to clean items that are usually last on your list, but very unsightly when unattended. We aren’t finished until vinyl protectant is applied.
Below Deck:
- Bilge Clean and dry bilge area. We use soap, water and a stiff brush to remove any oil spills. Once clean, we spray with a moisture displacing lubricant. We then clean the bilge pump intake and inspect the pump and hoses.
- Head and Galley We clean and wipe down all surfaces and countertops with a disinfectant. We also clean inside cabinets, the refrigerator and stove.
- Interior Vinyl, Clean and Protect We use a vinyl cleaner and apply a conditioner to all vinyl surfaces and interior vinyl trim.
- Interior Wood, Clean and Protect Wipe and clean all interior wood surfaces with a damp cloth, and apply oil or wood conditioner.
- Interior Upholstery Vacuum and shampoo all interior carpets, vacuum upholstered seating and cushions and place on edge for ventilation.
- Interior Chrome/Brass Clean and polish.
- Windows Clean windows and hatches with a non-alcohol based window cleaner.
- Store with an Odor/Moisture Absorbing product in the cabin.
Bottom Painting
Bottom prep includes removal of any flaking paint, masking off the waterline, topsides, shaft, transducers, and other areas. A light sanding using a vacuum sander prepares the bottom for an application of a fresh coat of VC-17, Interlux Bottomkote or comparable paint. Unless you are getting a racing bottom, we finish the painting process in the spring, painting under the pads or cradle supports and keel just prior to launching.
