Your Day on the Water just got better!

“Sirena” combines ease of handling to the pleasure of on-board comfort.  She’s lively and fast.  Even in light winds, she wants only to make you feel like you’re in control.

The Sun Odyssey 36.2 compared to its competitors of the same size is by far the fastest. The broad aft section allows pedestal steering and a cockpit table. The philosophy surrounding the Sun Odyssey (circulation, ventilation, clean cockpit area, stern platform) is apparent in exemplary fashion on the Sun Odyssey 36.2.  Escape for a day, a weekend or more.

“Sirena” is the owner’s version with 2 private cabins and a salon. In the owner’s version, the separate shower / head is accessible from the main head compartment. In this version, the aft cabin offers a berth of 43 square feet, for widthwise or lengthwise sleeping. The teak woodwork is crafted in a traditional manner to give a perfect finish. The solid trim moldings are attractive and provide effective handholds, the fabrics are blue velvet velour. The Cabin sole was removed and refinished with Interlux Perfection 2 Part Varnish in 2013. The Holly inlay was second coated with Interlux Perfection with Interlux No Skid Compound to produce an invisible Non-Skid floor.

The main cabin is reached via four teak steps and stainless steel handrails located on each side of the companionway. The steps are easily removed to get at the engine compartment, which is well insulated with double layers of soundproofing significantly reducing engine noise. Additional access to the engine is to port, starboard, top and aft. Starboard access is for the fuel filter and dip stick. Port access in the head reveals the starter.

Below decks is an L-shaped galley and dining area to starboard and a settee, nav station and head to port. The galley is equipped with deep, double stainless sinks, hot and cold water on a mixer tap, and an Eno two-burner stove with oven. Storage areas are located behind the stove, with cutouts in the teak facing for glasses and dishware, and below the sinks; there’s also a separate compartment for garbage. The icebox has 30 gallon capacity is well-insulated and has been converted to Adler Barbour 12V refrigeration. Countertops are light-colored laminates.

The U-shaped settee accommodates six adults. There is stowage beneath each of the seat cushions, which are held in place with strips of hook and loop. All under seat storage areas are fully gel coated and the plywood finished for easy cleaning. Port side offers a full length (6’ plus) settee useable as a berth which doubles as the seat for the rear facing Nav desk.

In addition to being spacious and comfortable, the cabin is well-finished for a boat in this price range. Wood surfaces on cabinets, bulkheads and hull sides are smooth and nicely varnished; the sole is teak with Holly inlay; the overhead liner reflects light to create an airy feeling; and 5″ cushions are fitted with durable fabrics that are removable for cleaning. The entire space is well lit by the combination of portlights, halogen and LED ceiling lights and reading spotlights.

From a history of great sailing prowess, mated to the finest production quality, the new 36.2 adds dimensions of unmatched livability. The Jeanneau 36.2 is constructed from a hand-laid fiberglass hull, with fully encased floors and hull longitudinals plus perimeter bonded structural bulkheads. The balsa-cored deck is through-bolted and bonded with elastic polymer to the hull. This method of building provides for superior strength and rigidity. There is also a vinylester resin skin coat for osmotic protection. The cockpit-deck includes swim platform and ladder with shower, walk-through transom with hinged helm seat for easy access, wheel steering, pedestal instrument console and folding cockpit table, aft-mounted genoa sheet winches for easy short handing, wide coach roof and deck lounging areas, five hatches and 10 opening ports to provide ventilation. In terms of sails and rigging, there are cockpit-mounted, self-tailing genoa sheet winches and a roof-mounted halyard-main sheet winch. Roller furling head stay, classic aluminum mast and boom, stainless standing rigging, low-stretch running rigging, mainsail and furling genoa, sail controls are led to the cockpit. Below deck, the starboard aft cabin has a queen berth with hanging locker, boot locker and storage shelf. The galley offers double stainless sinks, top loading icebox, two-burner stove with oven, and ample storage space. The marine toilet with aft shower area is separated from the sink-vanity by a Plexiglas door. The salon boasts a large U-shaped dinette with opposing settee and big, fixed table, aft-facing navigator’s table with electrical panels outboard and a hanging locker. Forward, there is a long V-berth in a separate stateroom with hanging locker, vanity with sink and mirrored locker, plus storage shelves
